The Last Post Was Another Me

 Almost an entire year later.

Yes, I'm still semi-here on the internet. No, life has not gotten easier which I'm not all that surprised by. If anything, I think it got a little harder as things continue to transform into new situations but again, not all that surprised by this. Life is probably the hardest thing any one person has to deal with.

I'll be back hopefully with a more fun post regarding the reads I've been doing. Some new and some old authors.

See ya later!

New Year, New Life [2023]

Hello.

Yes, I'm still around. Of some nature, I never left. Life (that pesky thing) has went and threw me on my head and hit the spin cycle. Another words, my life got more complicated. Some good, some bad and of course, some in between.

I'm not commiting to posting on here regularly because that's just an absurd ask of myself for the moment. I will try and hope for the best.

That being said, I do want to share a few reads in the next coming days-er week. So here's to hoping the ghost's slippery memory posts! *Cheers!*

Goals and Progress Update [1 of who knows]

So I might (or might not) have mentioned that I wanted to try and get some goals done this year that I haven't been able to accomplish as of late. That includes trying to catch up on book that have been sitting on my physical shelves, books that have been lurking on my kindle, books I started but never finished (I absolutely hate doing that), books that I had planned to continue in the series but other RL things were a priority and/or the publishing of said books got pushed back so now I need to reread series because my brain is a not a memory palace that I wish it would be. (Come on, Sherlock. How the hell do you do that?)

So with that said, this is going to be an attempt to start keeping better track of those above as well as books are also tempting me on either Kindle Unlimited, Scribd or Libby. (Libby being the books I've rented from the library but never actually got around to reading before they were returned *ahem* which...let's just say I have a list. That tells you it's become a bad habit.)

Anyway, onto the post.

SERIES THAT I NEED TO REREAD AND OR CONTINUE
(these are in no particular order, just memory as I go)

The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Belador series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love
Immortal After Dark series by Kresley Cole
The Arcana Series by Kresley Cole (YA)
The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
The Fox and O'Hare series by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
The Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong
The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward
Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter
Nocturne Falls by Kristen Painter
Jayne Frost series by Kristen Painter
The Angel Trials by Michelle Madow
Fire and Ice Trilogy by K.F. Breene
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
Practical Magic series by Alice Hoffman
The Witch's Daughter by Paula Brackston (duology)
The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb* (okay this one technically shouldn't be up here)
Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert
Pie-Jinks series by Selina J. Eckert
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden
The Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews
In Death series by J.D. Robb
Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon
Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead
The Hollows by Kim Harrison
The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells

Now I do have series that simply have no other book in the series out yet. I did not add those to this list. If or when those books are added then I will but as of right now, I figure why overload the list.

*Also these are series that I have in fact started, not ones I'd like to start like for instance the Kate Daniel series by Ilona Andrews (although technically I started the book but stalled out due to having to return it to the library before eventually just buying myself a copy *coughebookandphysicalcough* so I could read it when I was ready.

I'm sure there are some missing off this list that should be up there. I can already feel my tbr glaring at me from various places, waiting to snuff my already ghostly ass out for forgetting a ton more. But like I said, I'm working off a shotty memory. Oh!

Chloe Neill's series (though I did finish the parent series) Heirs of Chicagoland so you see what I mean...I'll probably be adding more.

I hope to cross some off.

And like I said, there are a bunch of books that I started as well.

Started But Did Not Finish (Yet)

The Golden Couple
Broken Girls
The Ex Hex
Year One
A Hunger Like No Other (this is a reread from the above series)

Yes, I know, a BOTM trend if I ever saw one. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting one or two. Plus all the ones I STARTED on Kindle but never finished I also have a ton of ARCs on my backlist that I have to get through because of numerous things going wrong and I'd like to make sure I read and review them soon. Plus the ones the that are publishing soon as well.

At some point soon, I'm going to try and compile a list of books/series that I want to get to as well. For instance, I'd really like to start reading some of Brandon Sanderson's work and Nevermoor series as well as maybe try Seanan McGuire's work. And while I have the physical copies of both Arc of a Scythe and The Folk of the Air series, I haven't touched them yet.

CURRENT READS:

Not The Witch You Wed (arc) 🐺🧹
The Angel Island (KU) πŸ‘ΌπŸ§›‍♀️πŸΊπŸ‘Ώ
Haunting Adeline (KU) πŸ‘»πŸ’–πŸ€·‍♀️πŸ’‹πŸŒΉπŸ’‹πŸŒΉπŸ±‍πŸ‘€
Wild and Wicked Things (arc) ✨🧹✨πŸŒΉπŸŽ‰
The City of Dusk (arc) ✨🧹✨⚔🀺
Heart of Shattered Glass (arc) πŸ‘—πŸ’–πŸ²πŸ™‡‍♀️

Of course the above may change depending upon priorities. Or mood. Sometimes it's extremely hard to read something your not in the headspace for.

Well that's it, update coming at some point on some hopefuls I'd like to get to.

Alright, Spook ya later!! πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

What am I Checking Out in Kindle Unlimited? [March 2022 Edition]

KINDLE UNLIMITED BINGE WORTHY POST

Alright, so with so much going on in the world, sometimes it's a good idea to take a moment and step back and try for something relaxing. Why? Because, usually that's all we can do at times and self care is not a sin.

So what does this ghost do? She reads, of course. And watchs some shows. (Yes, that too.)

Oh and this is also a good way to get out of reading slumps. (Ssshhhhh...nobody stare.) A few times, I was snagged with that dreaded feeling of not finding much joy in reading or just being burned out from high fantasy or complex stories while amazing, left your brain a bit...mushy.

Okay, this is all for now. I will update with a part two probably closer to the end of March.

Ghosting Out!....*sneaks out of the room from embarrassment*

All of these are currently still on Kindle Unlimited.

The Angel Trials is a fun, ya paranormal read. (1-4 above)
Norturenal Falls is like a cozy mystery and a Halloween town had a baby with splashes of romance for the main characters. (1-2 above)
Fire and Ice trilogy is just...I can't seem to not want to read this book. Bad ass demon hunter with a secret past, a lustful but powerful vamp wanting said heroine and two mages who make you want to crack up. Not to mention heroine's neighbors 🀣 They need their own skits. (Book 2 above)

Question of the Month - Jan 2022

Question of the Month - What Book or Movie/Show have you been dying to get to but just haven't found time?

I have so many answers for this. But strangely enough, one tv series was finally started thanks to my cousin putting it on during one of our hang outs. That tv show is: The Witcher.

Yes, I know. How could I not watch it?

"It's way over hyped!"

"Are you that late to the party?"

" Have you seen Mr. Sexy Cavill?"

"So MUCH blood and GORE!"

"Sexy times, sexy times!"

But I'm only in season one and slowly working my way through by rewatching what I'd already seen to piece things together. (We were drinking at the time so I needed to sure *coughlookatnakedhenryagaincough* I caught everything.)

Plans for the Blog [2022 Edition]

With a new year comes a new plan.

So with this year, I'll be trying to post at least 4 times a month. I can't promise that I won't miss a post but I'll try to stay on top of things. Unfortunately, creative ideas can sometimes dry up and I have to wait.

So here is not promising an update every single week but at least to try. I will of course, still be reading and reviewing on my GoodReads account. I will also make certain posts on IG when I can. (To be honest, I'm still learning IG's platform as I'm fairly new to it and want to get better at using it.)

I will do Wrap Ups but will not recap what I've already posted. I can provide links to reviews though to make it easier. I will post what I read throughout the month but not every mention will have a review because sometimes, I truly don't have anything to say that hasn't been said.

Okay on to 2022!

Current Reads: aka what I've been Binging on

Yeah that December thing didn't work out as I'd hoped but no fear. I am still reading and still writing reviews on GR and IG (not every time for everything but still trying to keep relevant at least.) I try posting here but it's a bit of a pain because of the way BLOGGER is set up. I've actually been looking into possibly moving my site but who knows, I may just keep it here for now. We shall see...

Anyways, ONTO THE BOOKS!

Alright, so you know the drill. I love reading ARCS and these will not be too shocking for my reading time. As matter of fact, I started falling into Cozy Mysteries (still like the harder stuff )and am finding an enjoyment level on mystery/thriller aspect but on a more tamed level. Kind of like wanting a break from the hard spirits straight, so you mix it up with a nice cocktail or two.

Which brings me to this story. Now I'm not saying its a straight up murder type book but! hear me out, it has FAE and paranormal mayhem that intrigues me.

You follow a witch, a pie witch actually, named Reese who just started up her own bakery called 'Pie-Jinks' and yes, pun intended. She is working to make a name for herself in her small town and starts to come into random and strange issues. People go missing. Even people she knows! What's a Pie Witch to do? Bake! (You'll get the joke if you read it. And you should. Cause it's fun.)

The lovely Selina J. Eckert has even written a prequel called Pumpkin Pie Spice where the story actually shows everything that starts Reese's adventures. Actually, if you have a subscription to Scribd, they are on there right now.

Here are the stories:

Here is my review for Cranberry Bog Crumble also hosted on Good Reads: (spoiler free!)

"Wow, this took me a little longer than I meant to but I'm glad I got to read it finally. Quick thanks to the author and Story Origin for allowing me to read this ARC and reviewing it with honesty. (I actually did end up reading it on Scribd as well because I wanted to read the book before this and the fun little prequel.)
First off - while the cover may elude you to think this book is just fun and campy with all the good vibes - it does but with some very fun layers of story you were not expecting. I was sucked in so fast and had to read it in one day because I NEEDED to know what was happening. The way the author writes is very nicely paced and easy to read without overcomplicating the plot. The mystery aspect is also highly addicting with the questions that keep flying at you. Very fun, very loveable characters. (The sprites are probably my top favs lol.)
Annd...no spoilers for but spoilers for me, I've already started the next book for this and recc anyone who loves a good mystery with a dash of fae involvement walloped with fun talk of sugary goodness (bakery level and love interests) would find enjoyment in these books. They did exactly what they were meant to do and I love it!"

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So yes, I would highly recommend these if you haven't read and they sound right up your alley.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program...
